My name is Mark, and I’ve lived the DIY 4 Life lifestyle all of my life. This site is my way of sharing that journey with you — not from a pedestal, but side-by-side, project by project, mistake by mistake, and win by win.

A Life-Long DIY’er
My DIY journey began long before the internet made knowledge easy to reach. I’ve learned everything the hard way — experimenting, breaking things, fixing them again, and discovering the satisfaction that comes from building something with your own hands.
In 1992, I founded 601MEDIA, named after the digital video standard CCIR-601 — a nod to my roots in early digital production and a reminder that learning never stops. Over the years, I’ve taught myself digital filmmaking, post-production, media design, computer systems, and web development. As technology evolved, so did my curiosity. I dove into electronics, coding, business automation, content creation, and everything in between.
Through 601MEDIA, I’ve spent decades helping entrepreneurs make smarter digital decisions, build their online presence, and bring their creative ideas to life. Now, I’m bringing those and all my other experiences to you — to DIY Hobby Maker.
